Background

I never took any drawing lessons and, in fact, did not consider myself noteworthily proficient. Maybe mildly talented. A classmate at the art academy told me at the start of our sophomore year that I would be an illustrator. I discovered he was right about halfway through our senior year.

 

The training at the academy was mostly conceptual, so you could define me, technically at least, as an autodidact. But many thanks go to Sarah Green, my girlfriend during the academy years, an extremely talented illustrator. Everything I know about using water colors I learned from her. Beyond that it was practice, practice, practice.
